I’ve listened to Harvest a couple of times on Qobuz and thought it might be a nice one to start my NY collection on vinyl. Ultimately, if you want the best Harvest, you should track down the DVD-A - the Hi-res 2 channel on this (24bit 192kHz) is awesome. A number of luminaries—including James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash—also appear. Harvest, Neil Young’s fourth album, proved even more popular than its predecessor, After the Gold Rush.

The first is Harvest Time, an unreleased two-hour film shot during the making of Harvest, with footage from Young’s ‘Harvest Barn’ sessions in Northern California, recording sessions in Nashville and London. The box sets include the original album, 3 outtakes from the Harvest sessions, two DVDs and a hard bound book.

Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description. my copy has terrible split pretty much the entirety of the top and bottom of the jacket, but other than that, is absolutely perfect, let it be a little noise. That's not the real Neil" barked a particularly discerning Neil Young fan when I dared to suggest that 'Harvest' was my favourite album.Released in February 1972, Harvest was Neil Young’s third solo album and is one of the most successful and well-loved albums in his long career. It topped the Billboard 200 album chart for two weeks, and spawned two hit singles, "Old Man", which peaked at No.

The first DVD is Harvest Time - a 2-hour, unreleased film shot during the making of Harvest, and includes footage at Neil’s Broken Arrow ranch in Northern California, plus the recording sessions in Nashville and London.

On “Are You Ready for the Country,” Nitzsche’s slide guitar now cuts through with added sharpness and affords the music a more buoyant quality. His usual dissonant touches, like the otherworldly guitar in Out On The Weekend, are less spooky in this new context. When Crosby and Nash contribute vocals near the end of the track, their voices are fuller and harmonies clearer. The quality of this record is the equivalent to a Tone Poet edition and is worth having in your collection. The former effort topped the Billboard album charts for two weeks in 1972 and yielded the hit singles “Old Man” and “Heart of Gold.
