The Strange Case Of…’ opens with “Love Bites (So Do I)”, which, in my opinion, is up there with the best hard rock songs; it’s loud, energetic and full of attitude.

Halestorm are deserving of their place amongst today's most successful rock acts and you won't find many other female fronted rock bands showcasing mainstream rock music as well as this. From the first time that Ι listened to Halestorm I was pretty sure that this band was going to blow our minds! With echoes of Garbage and Hole, Lizzie Hale has given us a stormer of an album, which grabs you from the very first track and doesn't let go until the last track fades away. So, if I didn’t already have a rock star crush on Lzzy, I totally would now ha ha, this album is one of my favourites of the year and I’m not sure what will come along that could topple it. Here’s To Us” closes the standard edition of the album which is in the vein of a retrospective/celebratory track; I can’t quite think what this reminds me of, but it could be more of a parody. So suddenly this predicament with having this record that had a split personality was about having a split personality.

Regardless of where it was heard, it’s great that this song got some exposure and hopefully it’ll help to get them more. From the opening count and riff of ‘Love Bites (So Do I)’ you know you are in for a treat, with a chorus that will have you humming it like an idiot for hours after hearing it you know they’ve done well. The band members are Lzzy Hale:Vocals and guitar, Arejay Hale: Drums, Joe Hottinger: Lead Guitar, and Josh Smith: Bass!Lastly we get another tempo ballad in "Here's To Us" which is a nice way to close an enjoyable record, rather surprisingly this is the albums second single, which in my view is an odd choice as it isn't strong enough. It’s been three years since the release of Halestorm’s debut in 2009 and this new album has been a long time coming! She and her band mates also crafted heavier numbers, including "I Miss The Misery," with its start-stop chorus rhythm and confrontational lyrics and “Rock Show,” which blazes with euphoric vocals and motivational riffs. For starters, they had a prominent spot in the first Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival in 2010 opening the main stage for such bands as Stone Sour, Avenged Sevenfold and Disturbed.
