This is a step we recommend for all first-time users, go through the manufacturer’s suggested setup procedure via the links posted above.

The Logitech G29/G920 is a great wheel when it comes to compatibility, especially regarding the brand-new next-gen consoles. For as long as we have been building some of the best racing simulators in the business, we have used Heusinkveld products. So as you can see steering lock can be a complex thing but once you understand a few key fundamentals you’ll be well on your way to finding the best setting for you.Unfortunately, there are now many different types of wheel, wheel-base, pedals and game settings that make understanding FFB confusing. One thing to note about FFB settings is that these are subjective and what may be good for some may not be for others. However, as mentioned previously, the difference between G29 and G920 is based on which of these consoles the wheel is compatible with. In any case, this guide will cover the initial set up process for the Logitech G29/G920 driving wheel.

To know when your wheel is clipping in ACC can be quite difficult, as there is no in-game display showing the force output to the wheel. Or maybe you’ve been a long time Logitech user and are looking to find the best settings for the Logitech G29 to make you faster. Steering Ratio is the relationship between the angle of the steering wheel outputs changes to the wheel of the car. With this said one of the advantages to a correct steering ratio is to give the car in which you are driving the correct steering response to the real-life counterpart.

You will likely find with most cars that the steering lock in ACC will be much less than the standard 900° that your wheel is most likely set to as default. When you first install your wheel, often the manufacturer will provide a guide on how to set up and calibrate your wheel.

Dynamic damping for the higher-end wheels is usually left at 100, however, for entry-level wheels, this should be turned down to help keep weight in the steering wheel at high speeds. The first place you should navigate to is the Settings menu then Controls where you will adjust your ingame wheel settings. Like all aspects of motorsport, the FFB settings may still require some adjustment to your personal preference. The third menu option is for your pedals, which is where you are able to change the sensitivity of the pedals. Whether you are a new player to the popular SIM franchise or an experienced racer, there are some great tips included within this article to help you dial in like-for-like force feedback settings. This will create a ‘dead zone’ where the wheel will max its available output and you will lose feel at the harsher ends of force. It is widely thought that direct drive steering wheels such as the Fanatec range provide a better feel than belt driven and gear driven wheels, like the Logitech and Thrustmaster’s. For entry-level wheels such as the Logitech G29/G920 and some Thrustmaster’s, the min force is applied to counter a steering deadzone. Some drivers prefer a higher ratio, needing more steering lock to get the equivalent steering angle of a 1:1 ratio. A quick chat with the Coach Dave Academy Setup Team (James Parker, Alleric Enslin, Gregor Schill) confirmed that they all use a steering lock rotation of 900°, allowing for ACC to then adjust it per car.
