The boys had fun attempting to blast their creatures out of the crate and comparing the differences between the monsters.

Each comes with a crow bar which you use to break the lock and unlock your new “beast” friend for hours of horrid fun, over and over again. They have a huge range of Mother’s Day gifts to choose from so we can show them how much they mean to us. Pudge’s eyes look cute when they are unlit, but they are pretty scary when lit – especially in a dark room! One of the most sought after toys this Christmas is the Crate Creature Surprise and luckily for Tyler, he was given one to feature here on the blog!

Incidentally, a mum of two boys, my specialist subjects include: the school run, being woke AF, randomly remembering 90's song lyrics (while simultaneously forgetting everything else), sarcasm and dark humour. With a grizzly exterior of ferocious fuzz, squirting snot, glowing eyes and growling noises, they’re big softies really. The trail was really well done and what really topped it for us was the relaxing music that accompanied the trail throughout. Get him back in his box, and lock him up before he gets too mad and when he’s forgotten all about your taunts, untrap him all over again! The boys are on half-term this week, we have a few activities planned alongside some chilled out days at home. He has an off switch hidden under his fur but if left alone he sleeps and turns off so batteries are not wasted.

The parts are made of brightly coloured solid plastic which you can mix and match with other Crate Creature KaBOOM box creatures, giving them a unique look. He loved geeking out at the live flight radar which shows you what planes are coming in and out of the airport in real-time. I haven’t managed to get a photo of them playing together yet but will definitely share one when I do. As they contain Slime you would need to use some level of supervision for kids that might get it everywhere – don’t blame me if it ends up on your carpet! The Crate Creature's eyes light up when he's active, and through the bars of his crate he is very cute. The best part, however was being able to head to the museums very own viewing area which is near the Gatwick runway to plane spot! There are 12 characters available at the moment; Blizz, Flea, Guang, Crosseyes, Stubbs, Cappa, Pudge, SnortHog, Tenta, Sizzle, Tugger and Croak! Blizz and all the Crate Creatures are suitable for 4+ and can be bought from Smyths Toys and other good toy retailers.

If you were to create your own Barf Buddy what animal/creature would it be and what would you name it? I'm Erica, a forty-something woman with Crohn's disease (among other things) and diagnosed with ADHD aged 44.

My favourite game is driving more slowly the closer the vehicle behind gets, I know I've won when they turn purple with rage. The fun doesn’t end there though, you can even record your voice by pressing Pudge’s belly which he then replays in his funny creature voice! They’re great fun, the crate, chains and lock are reusable which makes a nice change from the packaging you just throw away. Anyway, that’s enough reminiscing – back to Crate Creatures… There are 4 to collect… Sizzle, Blizz, Snorthog and Pudge (who we got).
