Later, Griffith volunteers the Hawks to reclaim the impregnable Fortress of Doldrey from a Tudor governor named Gennon, previously the pederast lord Griffith served. It peels back the layers and reveals little by little how Guts grew up to be such a mentally broken and morally outraged character. I would strongly recommend this series for hardcore fans of fantasy and horror, so long as you're prepared to be traumatized for life by the disgustingly harsh nature of its content.
